Get Writing - part of the BBC's 'Get Creative' initiative, a fully interactive site where you can post work, receive feedback and join discussion groups

 

Granta Magazine - publishes new writing - fiction, personal history, reportage and inquiring journalism - as well as documentary photography.

Oxford University MSt in Creative Writing - Oxford University is now offering a two-year, part-time Master of Studies degree (MSt) in Creative Writing. It aims to provide talented creative writers the opportunity to study for a postgraduate qualification in their field.

 

Pighog Press - a small poetry publishers based in Brighton, committed to the publication of unique voices. Authors include Lorna Thorpe, Brendan Cleary and Moss Rich.

 

Pulp - fantastic site featuring new short stories every month, live literature listings and reviews

 

Scriberazone - funky site full of well-presented poetry by upcoming and established writers

 

SciTalk - A website and database of scientists who would enjoy meeting and talking to fiction-writers, to explain what they do, show them their work-places, images, and help them understand the jargon. In return, scientists will also learn how writers work, and both sides should have very enjoyable and lively meetings.

 

Seren Books - A small, independent publishing house based in Wales, publishing English writing by Welsh authors. They specialise in fiction and poetry and publish the work of poets such as Owen Sheers, Tim Liardet, Fiona Sampson and Pascale Petite.

Writers in Oxford - Writers in Oxford was set up by local members of the Society of Authors in 1992 and is run by writers for one another. Welcoming applications for membership from writers who have had a full length work - or a substantial body of smaller works - published, broadcast or performed commercially, their main purpose is social, and their style informal and friendly. They aim to provide opportunities for writers to meet, thereby promoting discussion, and providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information.

Writers' Workshop - The Writers' Workshop provides a full manuscript appraisal and editorial service to unpublished authors. Run by writers for writers, the company aims to offer the most comprehensive editorial service available. They will also introduce authors to leading London agents, where the manuscript justifies it.
