English PEN has hosted literary events for over 80 years. In our recording archive we have tapes of most of the events from 1953 to 2004! For recordings from 2004-5, please go to Borrow Recordings.

Please note that some of the earliest recordings are on magnetic tape. The recordings from 2003 and onwards are on CD. All other recordings are on cassettes.
In order to borrow a recording from our archive, please do the following:

Write down your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address, along with details of the recording you wish to borrow.

Please enclose a cheque and a SAE. The cost per recording borrowed is £8.00 for members and £15.00 for non-members.

Send all of this to English PEN, Free Word Centre, 60 Farringdon Road, London, EC1R 3GA
The recording will be sent to you as soon as possible, for your convenience. Please return the item within 8 weeks of borrowing.
