Since its beginnings 90 years ago, English PEN has defended the freedom to write by engaging the support of public institutions, newspapers and publishing houses. To safeguard our vital work for the future, we are now adding to our regular membership of writers and literary professionals a small circle of Silver PEN Partners.
Silver PEN Partners are individuals, companies and organisations drawn from within the publishing industry, media, legal, financial and other professions whose commitment to freedom of expression, literacy, language and literature is such that they want to make sure that English PEN can continue its important work now and into the future.
Become a Silver PEN Partner
Your support as a Silver PEN Partner is vital to sustain English PEN’s mission to promote the freedom to write and the freedom to read in England and around the world. Through a commitment to contribute a negotiable amount to English PEN each year, you will provide funds that enable us to develop our programme which includes Readers and Writers, Writers in Prison and Writers in Translation. You can help us campaign more effectively and enrich the lives of more people through literature by joining this important group of key donors. We can tailor activities to meet the aims of your Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes and would be pleased to meet you to discuss your objectives.
Our current Silver PEN Partners include Hachette UK, HarperCollins, Random House, Penguin and London Book Fair. To find out more or to arrange an informal discussion about the benefits to you or your company of becoming a Silver PEN Partner please contact English PEN’s deputy director, Heather Norman Soderlind on email@example.com or telephone us at 0207 324 2535.
