Hachette UK
In October 2008 Hachette UK committed to a 3 year Silver PEN Partnership which will help to ensure English PEN

can continue it's work defending freedom of expression and promoting literature as a means of inter-cultural
dialogue.
Book Sale
In 2009 Hachette UK held their annual Public Charity Booksale in support of English PEN, raising £711.80 for the charity. Selling books for £1-£2 each, Hachette staff volunteers ploughed through dozens of boxes of books donated from across the company and served hundreds of very satisfied customers, many walking away with armfuls of current Hachette UK bestsellers during the 4-hour sale. Many thanks to all those who donated books, helped out at the sale and came down to Triton Square on the day to pick up a bargain.
Orion Fundraising
On the 17 September, Hachette imprint Orion held their inaugural fundraising event in aid of English PEN. The Literary Scavenger Hunt and Raffle was held in the Charing Cross Road literary spot, The Phoenix Artist Club, and brought together members of the publishing industry and friends. The event provided an evening of mystery and clue solving in London's literary trove, Soho, and raised £500 for English PEN. The raffle had fantastic support from affiliated industries, with donations from Waterstones, The Ivy, Sony Music and The Horniman Museum as well as the Michelin star chef, Michel Roux.
On the 4 November Orion also hosted their Annual Quiz at Grace, Piccadilly. This year the Quiz was held specifically in aid of English PEN, with Orion colleagues raising £230. Competition was fierce amongst the teams; the Fic Eds maintained first place, and The Good, The Bad and the Phoetus came a very close second. A big thank you to those that donated, and took part. A good night was had by all, and there were some fantastic prizes on offer.
