Join the Board of English PEN as Treasurer
English PEN is the founding centre of the worldwide PEN movement and one of the world’s oldest human rights organisations. As both a human rights and literary charity, English PEN promotes literature and the right to freedom of expression for all through a wide range of campaigns, events, projects and publications. English PEN promotes literary excellence through its prestigious prizes and through its pioneering initiatives in the world of translation.
As Treasurer, you will play a key role in guiding the organisation’s financial strategy and sustainability, joining our established Board of Trustees and serving as an important link between the Board and the Director. The role involves overseeing the charity’s accounts, chairing the Finance and Audit Committee, and providing clear financial oversight and guidance. This is a governance role and does not involve day-to-day responsibility for the finances.
We are looking for someone with financial expertise and a commitment to literature and freedom of expression. You will be joining a dynamic and experienced Board, supporting English PEN’s vital work to champion writers and readers, and to defend free expression worldwide.
