Iran: take action for journalist Narges Mohammadi

Journalist Narges Mohammadi is currently being held in connection with the peaceful exercise of her right to freedom of expression, association and assembly in relation to her human rights work. Mohammadi’s trial, on charges including ‘spreading propaganda against the system’ and ‘gathering and colluding to commit crimes against national security’ is due to continue on 20 April 2016. According to reports, she is also facing a charge of ‘insulting officers while being transferred to a hospital’ in a separate case.

English PEN joins PEN International in calling for Mohammadi’s immediate and unconditional release. We are also calling for her to be granted all necessary medical attention, and for her to be allowed more regular contact with her family.
