Investigative reporter Anabel Hernández will be in conversation with Gaby Wood to discuss her latest book A Massacre in Mexico: The True Story Behind the Missing 43 Students (translated by John Washington and published by Verso) which reconstructs the terrible events of that night and its aftermath, giving us the most complete picture available, revealing the profound depths of corruption in the Mexican government and police force—as well as the vulnerability of ordinary Mexicans.
English PEN are honoured to be presenting this event following PEN’s campaign to support the struggle of the parents of the disappeared students to discover the truth about their children and the fight for justice and against impunity.
