We are delighted to be partnering with the inaugural Hillsborough Literary Festival to bring the work of writers at risk to Northern Ireland.

In solidarity with writers who are in prison or otherwise at risk, five Northern Irish writers will read from the work of some of the incredible individuals supported by English PEN’s Writers at Risk Programme.

Writers Bernie McGill, Kelly McCaughrain, Stephen Connolly, Padraig O’Tuama and Jude Hill will come together to share the words of writers including Ahmet Altan (Turkey), Amanuel Asrat (Eritrea), Daphne Caruana Galizia (Malta) and Nabeel Rajab (Bahrain).

The event will be introduced by Hannah Trevarthen, Events and Development Manager at English PEN.

Venue: Market Room, The Courthouse, The Square, Hillsborough, BT26 6AG
