PEN-supported writers at Edinburgh International Book Festival 2016

11 PEN-supported authors and translators will be appearing at events across this year’s Edinburgh International Book Festival.

Saturday 13 August, 5pm: Adrien Bosc (Constellation) and Miriam Moss (Girl on a Plane) in conversation (suitable for young adults)

Saturday 13 August, 8pm: Barroux and Sarah Ardizzone present Alpha, with readings by actor Thierry Lawson

Sunday 14 August, 1.30pm: A fun event for children aged 3-6 with Barroux

Sunday 14 August, 6.30pm: Faïza Guène and Sarah Ardizzone discuss their new novel Men Don’t Cry

Monday 15 August, 10.15am: Alaa Al Aswany discusses his new book The Automobile Club of Egypt

Monday 15 August, 10.3oam: Barroux, Chris Haughton and Emer Stamp discuss their work (suitable for families and children aged 10+)

Wednesday 17 August, 11am: Daniel Hahn leads a reading workshop on this year’s Man Booker International Prize-winning book, The Vegetarian by Han Kang (translated by Deborah Smith)

Wednesday 17 August, 2.15pm: Man Booker International Prize-shortlisted translators Charlotte Collins, Daniel Hahn and Deborah Smith in conversation

Wednesday 17 August, 5pm: Sarah Ardizzone and Bessora discuss Alpha with Rowena Seabrook (suitable for young adults)

Thursday 18 August, 5.45pm: Bessora joins Karrie Fransman and Bidisha to discuss graphic novels and the refugee crisis

Sunday 21 August, 3.30pm: Ahmed Al-Malik and Raphael Cormack talk about The Book of Khartoum

Sunday 28 August, 6pm: Tahar Ben Jelloun pops round the corner to the Institut Français Ecosse for an informal salon discussion about his book
