Vigil for imprisoned writers in Saudi Arabia
Friday 25 January, 1:00 pm—2:00 pm
Four years ago, blogger Raif Badawi was flogged 50 times as punishment for his writings. Four years later, we continue to hold monthly vigils at the Saudi Embassy here in London to call for his immediate release. We will also be continuing calls for the many other writers detained in Saudi Arabia, including Waleed Abulkhair, Ashraf Fayadh, Fahad Al Fahad and Marwan Al Muraisy, and for justice for murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Please join us if you can and help spread the word.
The vigil is co-sponsored by English PEN, the Peter Tatchell Foundation, the Society of Authors and Reporters Without Borders.
**NB: Activists are asked to meet at the Curzon Street entrance to the Embassy**
