Read: Today’s made-up word

Richard Garbutt

Our pleasure in each other

Stretched afternoon to evening

And towards the cusp of night

I wanted to let go

But you told me

And I knew you meant

That to commit

Would be a destructive act of measurement

Collapsing the waveform

And killing the cat of our possibilities

As surely as an exposition of

Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle

Would have killed the mood
