Read: Today’s made-up word

Clamberquick

Daisy Johnson

My heart rabbits in my chest and

black blunt blemishes polka on the stairs.

Breath spools from me.

My fogbound feet,

my grey eyes,

my hair of damp and mist

are left behind

with all of me.

And then,

I am, I am, I am.

Beyond the buildings

beyond the carpet of smog and brick and stone,

beyond the tidal green.
