Fusterbrothy

Catherine Crosswell

Toes akin to giant wotsits

A marmite factory with a deadline

breed under thickened cloudy nails

sinking any flesh with an unbrisk brush

Scrape a digit over a hot buttered crumpet

reminiscing of the cow at 77 Compton Bassett

now dabbling with the same foul name

engrained in such a cheese bap mind

Homo sapiens are flexible for one true purpose

So raise and toast a foot up to your face

Gaze now at the festering Fusterbrothy

as the talons edge nearer, full of ripe set toffee

Prepare one’s palate and have a little taste
