Workshop: PEN celebrates Malala Day in London primary school

We’re celebrating Malala Day tomorrow by working with young people in primary schools in London this week and next week.

12th July 2013 is Malala Yousafzai’s 16th birthday: a day she might not have lived to see, having been shot at the age of 15 simply for campaigning for the right to education.

We’re sending writer and educator Zaria Greenhill into Victoria Junior School in Feltham to run a free speech workshop for Year 5 children. The workshop will explore the right to speak as being a fundamental aspect of the right to education and the right to imagine – and all in an extremely fun and playful way!
