English PEN subject of Guardian Science Podcast

English PEN and the Medical Research Council have been working in partnership to help break down some of the barriers which exist between writers and scientists. In a joint event at the Royal Geographic Society, novelist Ian McEwan and poet Ruth Padel joined Nobel prize winning scientist Sir Aaron Klug and HIV researcher Dr Sheena McCormack to discuss what drives both scientists and writers to imagine and invent. The team behind the Guardian Science podcast interviewed Ian McEwan after the event, and you can now hear this interview and other selected highlights online on the Guardian website.
