English PEN is pleased to announce that the PEN Promotes grants programme is now open for submissions. Grants are available to assist UK publishers with promoting and marketing books being published for the first time in English translation.
Please note that we are trialling a new way for Publishers to submit applications this round via Google Forms. To apply for funding you will need to fill in an online application form and then submit supporting documents (as listed below and in the application form) in a separate email firstname.lastname@example.org
This is a particularly special round, as all visiting authors and events taking place next year will be part of the tenth anniversary of the Writers in Translation programme, so we’re looking for a set of outstanding books and events to celebrate in 2015. All PEN supported titles are featured on our World Bookshelf, which is run in partnership with Foyles.
This round of submissions is for books scheduled to be published in the first half of 2015, between 1st January and the 30th June.
The deadline for applications is Friday 19 September 2014
HOW TO APPLY
To apply to the programme, please fill in the online PEN Promotes application form. Please e-mail your supporting documents, (6000 word sample translation, contract between the publisher and rights holder, contract between the publisher and translator and catalogue) to email@example.com
We prefer accompanying contracts to be scanned and emailed to us. Please make sure your application reaches us before the official deadline.
