Despite the day’s unseasonably threatening weather, many members and friends of English PEN gathered for our annual Summer Party in the beautiful garden of St Paul’s Church in Covent Garden last week. It was a convivial, informal gathering where we were pleased to see PEN members old and new getting together to chat, eat and talk about the common themes that draw them together – writing and literature. Very many thanks to the Reverend Mark Oakley for allowing us to use the garden, and of course to the rain for holding off.
