- Salary £22,000-£25,000
- Full time, permanent post
Deadline for applications: 5pm, Friday 6 February 2015
English PEN is the founding centre of an international writers’ association, working to promote literature and freedom of expression, and is based at the Free Word Centre, in London, a hub for literature, literacy and freedom of speech organisations.
English PEN is now looking for a dynamic individual to join the team with an interest in arts outreach programmes, literary translation and the values of English PEN.
The Programmes Co-ordinator will work across English PEN’s literary outreach programme, Readers and Writers, and the charity’s translation programme, Writers in Translation. Readers and Writers offers an outstanding programme of outreach workshops to key communities including refugees, prisoners, young people and older people with dementia. Writers in Translation is a grant-giving programme to publishers, to support the publication of literature in translation. It is at the centre of a thriving network of translators, publishers, editors and writers and is a key partner of the annual International Translation Day conference held at the British Library, and the Literary Translation Centre held each year at London Book Fair.
This is a great opportunity for the right person to make an impact at a key period of activity for English PEN.
