About the book
These short stories are the reflections of lives at the margins of modernity; of people who struggle with the burdens of tradition in a rapidly changing world; of a landscape that is with us now, and yet is far away. Many of the characters are the wronged, abandoned, beaten, hopeless, lonely people that the society has overlooked and never bothered to allot space in its collective conscience. Some stories evoke a sense of nostalgia. Others convey a sense of urgency. Chandra Thangaraj wants us to see how caste betrayed people, and thus, one must betray their caste.
